what is a really good real hair hair extension brand?

It honestly depends on what you’re looking to do with the extensions. Personally, I like human hair extensions. You can use heat on them, color them, do anything you would do to your own hair. As far as brand, anything at a beauty supply store would be pretty good. Sally’s has a lot of good hair extensions. That’s where most hair stylists I know get them without spending BIG bucks.
I have long hair so I don’t wear extensions- so I unfortunately don’t know a ton about brands. I DO color and cut them quite a bit for clients though, and would DEFINITELY go with human hair. SO much easier to deal with.

Honestly, there’s no specific way (that I know of) that you can do a sock bun with short hair. If I were you, I’d just reference the sock bun post I wrote about a week ago, and just hairspray or bobby pin the extra hairs that poke out. It might just require a littttttleee more work.

it's probably not a good idea to buy boxed blonde hair dye and use it on my entire head when I have highlights but I can't live with all my roots anymore is it? My natural hair color is medium brown and which is what it looks like underneath and stuff. My hair looks blonde overall but it's too carmel-ey for my liking. I wanna be blonde all over! Should I just wait till I can get a bunch more professional highlights? :/

Well, hopefully you didn’t use the box color yet!! Because yea….not a good idea at all!
Luckily you have a few options! You could wait a while until you can get a bunch of highlights, OR, to help you get through till the next BIG highlight, a lot of salons have deals where you can get a few highlights right in your crown area to help it look lighter, without needing to highlight the entire head.
Like, when I have a client come in who wants to just make it look like they don’t have much regrowth, but they also don’t want to spend a bundle of money- I’ll put 7-9 highlights in the crown area, around the face and around to the back of your head. I use the part of the hair as a point of reference, and go at a diagonal so that you don’t get a streaky look. It looks really natural and blends everything really well.
That would by my choice honestly. :)
